Clamps!!!!

Saw this on a forum I frequent and thought of Pops!  Every year I ask him what he wants for Christmas and every year he tells me I can never have to many clamps!  This guy is more set up for metal working where Dad is more about the wood Working but hey it is all about the clamps.  Love Ya Pops!

A Little Closer

So I had not heard anything from Acme for a few days and I was really jonesing for a fix.  So I couldn't take it any more and shot Wayne an Email.  Just a little bit later this is what I get in return.  Man it is looking awesome if I dont say my self.  These guys seem do class A work and I cant wait to get the frame back.

Battery Box

So during my last week of TIG welding class I had some free time and was told I could do a little project if I wanted.  So I thought about it for a little and decided I would make up a aluminum battery box.  Here is what I came up with.  I am not 100 percent happy with all the welds but for the most part they are not too bad but I might end up sanding them smooth.  I still need to add a hold down to keep the battery secure as well and I think I might drill some "Speed Holes" into it but not sure about that.

Frame went under the knife today

So Wayne and the boys at Acme Choppers got the frame on Friday.  They got it unwrapped and put in the frame jig today.  After calling me and discussing a few things to make sure we were on the same page he got to work.  Wayne has been really great with the communication on this to make sure it is done the way I want.  I was super stoked when I open my email and got these shots from him.  Man I am so excited, kinda like a fat kid (me) in a candy store.  So much work still to do but it has defiantly started and is off to a good start I would say.  Stay tuned for more updates as I get them.

Tear Down

So I tore the bike down last weekend.  I sent the frame off to Acme choppers to have them do the hard tail for me.  I really wanted to do it myself but I need several tools and things of that nature before I can start doing frames the way I feel is right.  So with this one it is off to get done by someone else.  Maybe someday I will have a bigger garage and be more set up to do hardtails or even complete frames.

The beginning

So this is pretty much how the bike sat before the tear down.  This is my first Harley and my first "Cruiser".  I used to have sportbikes and even though I still like them a lot I decided to go in a different direction for the time being.  My next build will more then likely be a Cafe Racer style bike, but lets get through this build first.

It all starts somewhere

This will start out as a way for me to show progress of my current Chopper build along with other random shit I am sure.  I have no idea where this thing will end up going but I have an idea, enjoy the ride.
